      • Can Automist be used in lieu of upgrading fire doors FD30 after adding a 3rd storey?

We are working on a small projects which is a loft conversion to 2 storey Victorian building. As Building Regs stipulate, adding a 3rd floor requires all existing doors to be upgraded or replaced to fire doors FD30. The client has stripped the doors and is reluctant to have them painted with intumescent paint, etc. I was wondering whether installation of a Plumis system would save them?

        • Is it possible to have cooking facilities within the open-plan area?

Part B of Building Regulations, 2.20, says: ‘…Cooking facilities should be separated from the open-plan area with fire-resisting construction’. Is it possible to have a fully open space?
